I am a Veteran

I am a Veteran. A Veteran is someone, who at one point in their life, wrote a blank check payable to the United States of America for an amount up to, and including, their life. Regardless of personal political views, that is an honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer remember that fact.

REALLY!?

This in home business thing is such a new adventure for me. First let me say that I enjoy Passion Parties. It's so different from typical!

But having said that....

I have Friends who do others like Scentsy, Avon, Miche, Mary Kay and Heritage Makers.

One thing that I LOVE is that I have one Friend who is great with trading product for product. So I get Miche bag shells, and she gets PP stuff.

The only problem is that she is a little bit of a bully when she wants something.

I owed her $34 (she doesn't give me her cost.... that is retail.) She wanted $38 in product ($48 with tax and shipping) and she wanted to call it even.

Then she sends me a message saying that she has NO $ for groceries and needs the $ for that instead so she doesn't want the product (which I had already ordered) at all. So, I took her grocery shopping and bought her approx $36 in groceries. (we have a food card, so even though I had spent the $ already for the product, and had no $ to give her, I could still buy groceries) She thought I was still going to give her the product and has been calling/texting/messaging off the hook. (I was in Utah, and not able to take the time to talk or I would have addressed this sooner.) But when I got back to her (her ? had been "Has my stuff come yet?") and told her that yes, it came but since she told me she wanted the groceries instead I took her grocery shopping.

She actually expected almost $40 in groceries PLUS almost $50 on an order. Now I REALLY like to help people out. But NO ONE that I know would EVER do that for a $34 tab! Especially when her husband brings home TWICE what hers does.

So, then I have a Hostess who was REALLY wanted as much free stuff as possible. Now, I get this. Don't we all. But her party only made like $150. And only $50 of that was mine. Just GETTING to her party cost me $50.

THEN she is texting me every day to see when it'll be there. The reciept SAYS to give it 21 days and she's crying mutiny at 14.

Come ON people! Needless to say, her stuff will be there BEFORE day 21.

C'mon!

I can not stress ENOUGH how strongly I believe in Food Storage!!!!!!

We were fortunate enough to be able to add a few things to ours yesterday.

I LOVE that Utah sells Food Storage items in the Wal Marts!!!!!

Those of you who LIVE in Utah really need to take advantage of the fact that you can access it so easily!

As for me, I will be making SURE my family (including my mom and in laws if I have my way) have a good Food Storage supply!

When did you CHOOSE to be straight?

I've been thinking about this. And I DO know that there are certain parts of my personality that are so prominent, that I didn't really HAVE to choose to go with them. But I for one can tell you that I believe ACTING on gay or straight tendencies is a choice, even if being attracted to one gender or the other is not.

That right there is the point. You may not be able to choose whether or not the attraction is there, but you always have the choice to act or not.

Shout Out

Here's a shout out to true Christians: Gay, Straight, Black, White, Old, or Young and EVERYTHING in between. If you truly know how to treat you fellow Human Beings I APPLAUD you because so few know how to anymore!

(and I use Christians as an example only.... if you are Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist.... but the above applies, you STILL have my praise)

Hmmmm

As I was typing my last post I realized that all of these alternative lifestyle participants are making themselves outcasts by fighting so hard to be accepted.

They tend to become pushy. And even abusive and mean.

It makes it hard for someone like me to stay neutral.

I start with the "love one another equally" mindset.

I did not grow up with prejudices based on race, religion, or sexual orientation.

I knew right from wrong though.

And I know that it is wrong for people to come to MY country and take advantage of the people. To steal and abuse the people who have legally gained residency here. To say "I can come and take whatever I want. But you can't come to MY country and do the same or you will be shot." We are the ONLY country that harbors illegal immigrants and makes their lives better while they decrease our standard of living. That makes it a requirement to accept their language, their customs, etc.

SO, I have a problem with people who do that.

I know it's wrong to have sexual relations with people of the same gender. But I say to myself "it's between them and God." But then they attack MY lifestyle. They come to MY place of worship, and because they are not allowed in, they want to make it hard for ME to go there. They make it so that as a wife and mother, I cannot function "normally" in this world. Every one is doing everything they can to make sure not to step on THEIR toes..... meanwhile, they're trampling my leg, and working their way up my torso.

I can accept peoples' choice to not have a family. But all of a sudden those who have chosen to stay single or not have children, or have an "open" marriage are banning me and my Children from simple existence and the ability to live our life quietly.

Smoking kills people. But I can accept that some people choose this. I don't. And that has been fine. Until those who smoke make MY air and the air my Children breathe toxic. My Children are put in harms way when they walk through second hand smoke to get into the grocery store. This is a danger they don't get subjected to by ME, but it could KILL them!

Do you see where I am headed?

Now, it is HARD not to be prejudice. To NOT judge. To NOT have a problem with these "minorities" or people who are different. Because THEY refuse me the common courtesies that they DEMAND!

Welcome to the 22nd Century

I am a "Traditional" person. I went to school. Was involved in extra curricular activities. Dated boys, lettered in Music, dated boys. Got married. Had children.

Yes, I march to my own beat. But 9 out of ten times, it fits into the lines of what society finds to be acceptable.

I have a Traditional Family. 1 Mom+1 Dad= at LEAST 2.5 kids. We drive a mini van. Elysia is in Dance. David gets up every morning and goes to work while I care for our home and Children.... and do what I can to run a successful in home business.

And with all of the controversy on alternate lifestyles, the Traditional is slowly becoming the "going against the flow" choice.

As the alternative lifestyle participants fight to become mainstream, we begin to take a seat farther and farther back.

And now, I run into situations where people think there is something wrong with my family because we are tied to the demands of Traditional.

Church Responds to HRC Petition

Church Responds to HRC Petition

Simple and Clear

‎"Regardless of the opposition, we are determined to stay on course. We will hold to the principles and laws and ordinances of the gospel. If they are misunderstood either innocently or willfully, so be it. We cannot change; we will not change the moral standard. We quickly lose our way when we disobey the laws of God. If we do not protect and
foster the family, civilization and our liberties must needs perish."

Something worth reading

Here is another persons words on the Pres Packer Conference talk

Conference and Homosexuality

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints does not support homosexual relationships.

The Church of Jesus Christ DOES teach that EVERY person is a Son or Daughter of God and does not support any acts of violence against Homosexuals.

And every year there is something said in the Church's General Conference that offends the Gay/Lesbian community. Even if nothing is actually said using the words Gay, Lesbian, or Homosexual.

All that has to be used is the word immoral, and the Homosexual community goes NUTS!

This article sums up the latest wave of outrage that stemmed from October 3rd and 4th 2010 Conference.

I think it is ridiculous that this group of people gets their panties in such a bind over something being said about immorality (mind you, there was NOTHING that specifically pointed out ANYTHING having to do with any certain immoral "group" or act) and automatically assume that it is in reference to THEM. (Feeling guilty are we?)

And they in turn are reacting with protesting and defacing Church property. Boy that's the way to convince people that you deserve the same rights as every body else. If I didn't have a problem with that community for their sexual preferences, I sure have a problem now based solely on the disrespectful way they react to opposition. EVERY minority group has to go through similar prejudices. The Blacks, Women, you name it! But any group who reacts to NOT being accepted by becoming violent and disrespectful will NEVER gain the consideration and respect they are fighting to gain.

So, suggestion to the Gay and Lesbian Community: Take it with a grain of salt and wait out the opposition if you are so secure in your way of life and believe that it's ok and should be acceptable. Otherwise, if you're going to get so upset over EVERY little thing that is said that even HINTS at condemning your lifestyle, MAYBE it's NOT something you should be doing. If you can't stand proud and respectful, you don't really believe in it.

Oh, and STOP BLAMING THE MORMONS! The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints will NEVER advocate your lifestyle choice. It's their right as a religious denomination to accept and not accept certain actions of people. If you don't like it, there might be a religion out there to better suit you. But the church will NEVER bend their beliefs for you.

The Family

I have been working on a project via Heritage Makers that required a copy of "The Family: A Proclamation to the World."

Unable to find a copy that would work with what I was attempting to do, I ended up typing it word for word.

What an impact! I had "read" it. I "knew" what it said. BOY was I wrong. I had read the words, but not payed attention to the meanings.

If you've never read this document, I TRULY encourage reading it. If you Have read it, read it again!

Really.... Don't eat the Chicken!

I have a post on my other Blog that addresses this. It was based on a Dream I had. But may I suggest that those of you who are interested in learning about what this country has in store for it in probably the not too distant future look into the book The Cleansing of America along with There is No Death... I also recommend the website Another Voice of Warning (AVOW) for those SERIOUS about wanting to be prepared.

We have children going to bed without eating... Elderly going without needed medicines... Mentally ill without treatment... Troops without proper equipment..... Yet we donate millions to other countries before helping our own first......

I Don't Care

I DONT CARE !

Thought you might like to read this letter to the editor of a British national newspaper. Ever notice how some people just seem to know how to write a letter?.

Here is a woman who should run for Prime Minister!

Written by a housewife, to her daily newspaper. This is one ticked off lady.

‎'Are we fighting a war on terror or aren't we? Was it or was it not started by Islamic people who brought it to our shores in July 7 2002, and in New York Sept 11 2001 and have continually threatened to do so since?

Were people from all over the world, not brutally murdered that day in London , and in downtown Manhattan , and in a field in Pennsylvania ?

Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning or crushing death that day, or didn't they?

And I'm supposed to care that a few Taliban were claiming to be tortured by a justice system of the nation they come from and are fighting against in a brutal insurgency.

I'll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in and repents for incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11 and 7/7.

I'll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere belief of which is a crime punishable by beheading in Afghanistan

I'll care when these thugs tell the world they are sorry for hacking off Nick Berg's head while Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed throat.

I'll care when the cowardly so-called 'insurgents' in Afghanistan come out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques and behind women and children.

I'll care when the mindless zealots who blow themselves up in search of Nirvana care about the innocent children within range of their suicide bombs.

I'll care when the British media stops pretending that their freedom of speech on stories is more important than the lives of the soldiers on the ground or their families waiting at home to hear about them when something happens.

In the meantime, when I hear a story about a British soldier roughing up an Insurgent terrorist to obtain information, know this:

I don't care.

When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take this to the bank:

I don't care.

When I hear that a prisoner - who was issued a Koran and a prayer mat, and 'fed special food' that is paid for by my taxes - is complaining that his holy book is being 'mishandled,' you can absolutely believe in your heart of hearts:

I don't care.

And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's spelled 'Koran' and other times 'Quran.' Well, believe me!! you guessed it ......

I don't care!!

Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. Our soldiers don't have that problem.'

Only five defining forces have ever offered to die for you:

1. Jesus Christ

2. The British Soldier.

3. The Canadian Soldier.

4. The US Soldier, and

5. The Australian Soldier

One died for your soul, the other 4 for your freedom.

How can it be allowed

2 topics of discussion at the moment.

First, a demonstration in AZ where immigrants defaced American Flags on the ground.

One statement on this: Isn't it nice of us to provide a place where they can do this without fear of retribution. HERE in America, if I were to do that to the Mexican Flag, I would suffer dire consequences.

************************************************************************

2nd, Proposition 8 was overturned by a Judge even though over 50% of California's population voted FOR it. He took it upon himself and abused the power he has been given to look out for his own interests.

In the words of Cleon Skousen (from the book The Cleansing of America) : "The hedonistic disintegration of the American culture during recent years is virtually unbelievable. All the elements of rot and corruption, which have destroyed 3 previous civilizations on this continent, are now spreading the same poisonous decadence on every level of American society.

"Who would have believed ... the legalizing of sodomy as an optional judicially protected lifestyle and calling it part of the "New Morality"?"

***********************************************************************

One last thing. Do you realize that there will come a time when in order to buy groceries, you will have to take the name or mark of the Beast or Dragon.... Lucifer upon you?

If you don't have food storage, or a nest egg..... GET IT NOW!!!!!

God will not allow this society to thrive much longer. I promise you that!

So many are disgusted at my choice to get a tattoo. Well, let me tell you this: I HAVE my food storage. I am educating myself on the signs of the times. And I will NOT have the mark of the Beast found on me when the time comes. However how many God Fearing Christians who would NEVER get a tattoo will be blinded and led into getting that mark of false security placed on them so that they don't have to go without life's comforts?

A tattoo like mine is a very SLIGHT infraction. The Mark of the Beast, however means certain destruction!

Today's Thought

"No attacks on the church will be more bitter or
more persistent than those made in the Salt Lake Valley. No taunts
will be more shrill than those of apostates and ex-communicants. In
that valley, and in... Utah, church members will be accused
of the “crime” of being a majority!
Elsewhere you will encounter the same sort of snobbery
that gave rise to “can any good thing come out of Nazareth?”..."

T-I-R-E-D of the arguments..... they're NOT getting us ANYWHERE

I am SOOOOOO tired of hearing people who have never been unemployed or without the $ they need to provide for their families talk about unemployment insurance and welfare and how lazy anyone who uses them is. I am tired of FAT Americans complaining about how McDonald's "Tricked" them with the happy meal toys and then they just COULDN'T say "No" to their children and now they're morbidly obese. No wonder this country has the problems it does! I am also tired of the Immigrant arguments. Argue about the technicalities all you want: The people who are from other countries that don't enter this country legally (with a visa, green card, or with citizenship) NEED to be deported. NOT given a free ride while the rest of us struggle to feed our children.

I get sick and tired of people who have been excommunicated from a group or religion complain that the standards they were asked to live by were too taxing, and it was unfair that instead of being able to be the way they wanted to be they were removed. Don't people have the brain cells to get that when you belong to a country, church, or organization, you need to either live by the rules set forth or find a new one. You joined that organization BECAUSE of the standards. And then you want them to be forgotten so that YOU can be mediocre and still feel good about yourself.

Let us not forget

This was one of David's cousins' status today, and I LOVED it...."May this heaven rescued land praise the power that hath made and preserved us a nation. Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just, and this be our motto: In God is Our Trust. And the Star Spangled Banner in triumph shall wave, o'er the land of the free and the home of the brave."

8: The Mormon Proposition

It's always good to defend your beliefs, just make sure you get your facts straight when attacking something you disagree with. To all my Gay and Lesbian Friends and Family, I love you. However, the LDS Church is misrepresented in a lot of the views presented by supporters of the new movie. Just for example: The "Age of Accountability" is NOT 6. It's 8. I also recommend you look into the percentage of NON LDS people who voted for Prop 8. It wasn't the Church. It was the people of CA.

For any of you who read this who stay out of this kind of debate, I apologize. I chose to post this here vs FB because it's less attacking in my mind since this is my Blog.

Let me just say this: The movie coming out this summer called "8: The Mormon Proposition. Equality for some" Is a movie written and produced by people who USED to be Mormons. No one who has never been a Mormon would ever care enough to go this far. It's bitter people who don't like the Church's stand on Gay Marriages that care enough to make this film. What they overlook is how much the Catholic Church participated in the passing of Proposition 8.

Anyhow, you might be hearing a lot more on this topic from me as this movie is released. It attacks things that mean a great deal to me, and I for one am not quiet about things I believe in.

Quotes for LIFE

“A true friend knows your weaknesses but shows you your strengths; feels your fears but fortifies your faith; sees your anxieties but frees your spirit; recognizes your disabilities but emphasizes your possibilities.” William Arthur Ward

"Anyone can carry his burden, however hard, until nightfall. Anyone can do his work, however hard, for one day. Anyone can live sweetly, patiently, lovingly, purely, till the sun goes down. And this is all life really means." ~Robert Louis Stevenson;

Quote for the Day

"I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them." - Thomas Jefferson

A Word On "Loving My Life".... and ALL that comes with it

"Let's face it, It's not always a walk in the park on a Gorgeous Summer's Day. But when all is said and done, I LOVE it! I am devoted to being open and honest. You couldn't make this stuff up! Such is my story. There is Drama and horror, that's why I Blog it. And I want the chance to be candid, that's why it's private."

This is my explanation in case anyone wonders why this particular Blog, "Loving My Life and ALL that comes with it" is private while my other 2 are open.

I take the approach that everything is on the table.

I have no skeletons in my closet. I allow people to know the FULL story.

I love knowing that if someone were to walk up to My Husband, or really anyone else like My Mother, or My Children and say something along the lines of "Did you know that Candace did.....?" They could confidently say, "Yes, I knew that already."

There is NOTHING any media could bring up, or any slighted "Ex" could reveal that isn't already on the table. In fact, I have the sort of luck that it doesn't matter that I am a "Nobody" from a rural town in the Middle of Nowhere. Almost ALL of my "Incidents" and anything I might like to NOT have broadcast, makes the Local Paper. There is NOTHING like your Bishop, Relief Society President, Visiting Teaching Companion, and LandLord knowing exactly what is going on in your life because they read the newspaper. So by the time you bring it up, it's old news.

When David and I were first dating, in an effort to deter him from seriously pursuing me, a well meaning Friend, who I am happy to say I am even closer to now than I was then, told my soon to be In-Laws things that I think shocked at least my Sister-In-Law.... who was young and didn't need to know that sort of stuff.

But I think it worked out for the best. Because it allowed me to work with it rather than run from it. It helped me get to where I am now with my ability to be completely open and honest.

Not to mention it helped me trust that David TRULY loved me even with all of my past "mistakes," and that he wouldn't run at the first sign of trouble or scandal.

The thing is that I KNOW that not everyone needs the "gory" details. Some just want the surface, and that's fine by me. Thus, it is in my Private Blog that I include these details, and if people want to know, they just have to ask. And those who are happy with the basics, get just that. My Mother, My Husband, My Children, and My Closest Friends know EVERYTHING. And if I've left something out, all they have to do is ask. But at least with David, I know there are no surprises in store. Even the most shocking revelations would bore him ;-)

Just a quick example: When we were at the beginning of our Divorce, I was living at my Cousin's with The Girls. David came into town, and over dinner, I announced that I was filing for Divorce. The next night, we went out to dinner again since.... well, he was trying to convince me to reconsider. He wanted to show me that he would be helpful, by coming back "home" with me and helping me get The Girls to bed so that I didn't have to do it all alone. One thing led to another, and he spent the night. My Cousin, who isn't "all there" anyway, walked into my room without much warning the next morning. I had David hide down by the side of the bed. I'm sure she saw him.... but being the space case she is, didn't know who it was.

A couple of months later, at the end of the Divorce, she called David and left him a message telling him that she had some "dirt" on me that would proove that the Divorce wasn't his fault.... because I was cheating on him. (David and I Divorced more peacefully than we had been married. We filled out the papers together, agreed on EVERYTHING and managed to get a Divorce for under $30 and without any court appearences or Lawyers. So by the time she called him, we were Good Friends. He shared the message with me, and told me he knew all there was to know, and wasn't going to bother calling her.) Now, while this ultimately ruined my relationship with HER, I was very secure knowing that there were no surprises I needed to fear.

When people choose to support me, love me, stand by me, etc. I want it to be real. Not based on the part of the story I've edited to make me sound good. So, unlike Adam Peeples professes, I truly mean it when I say: If you know me, you know what I stand for, and if you don't then just ask.... and you will actually get the truth and a real answer. Rather than accusations and rejection.

Everyone VOTE

With the country in the state it's in, it's time everyone gets up off of their butts and makes a difference in SOME way.

Everyone in this Country needs to start acting and not just being acted upon. The LDS Church has always stressed the need to take an active role in voting for leaders who will lead this Country, our states, and towns righteously.

SO, and this includes me, anyone who is allowing everyone else to do the work, needs to get off of the fence and make a difference in what EVER way they can. And EVERYONE needs to take an active part by voting in the elections.

Things to have on hand

I've always been big on "Being Prepared." And I like to talk with others who are also into this way of thinking, and getting ideas from them on how to more effectively handle it. Here's what I've learned.

Items to have on hand for a Social Crisis:

* A year's supply of food that your family will actually EAT. Including Chocolate, and other "comfort foods," as well as things that don't spoil, and require little preparation.

In our Food Storage, we have a lot of PB and J, rice, Apple Juice, Spaghettio's, Spaghetti Sauce, and chocolate. As well as wheat and beans.

* The equipment to prepare the foods you have such as a grain "mill" of some sort to make your wheat usable, a camp stove along with propane, can opener, bottle opener, those kinds of things

* Guns and ammunition.

What good is spending the time, money and effort to gather these things if you can lose them easily when someone bigger and stronger wants them. The "bad guys" will have guns, that is a guarantee.

They also afford a bartering option

* Alcohol.

Lots of uses for this one. Starting with sterilization, and ending with Bartering.

* Cigarettes.

Again, Bartering possibility.

* Soap, wipes, toilet paper, etc.

You can NOT have to much of this stuff. Again, if you have an excess, you can barter with it.

* And Camping Gear.

Shelter, tools, stoves, sleeping bags, air mattresses, tarps, you name it.

Voting

All of you Wonderful Magna Residents (or ANYONE in District 22) PLEASE do not vote for Adam Peeples in the upcoming election! Trust me, he is NOT the person he was in High School, and I Believe he is a VERY bad choice to represent the People of Utah!

If he was running as a Democrat. Or even a Liberal, it might be totally different! However, he is not. He is running as a Conservative Republican. His views are not Conservative AT ALL!!!!!! which means that he does not have the same view on things that he is advertising or as the people he is wanting to represent. The problem with this is a simple conflict of interest. He will represent what HE believes. Period. And if it is not the same as what the people he represents believe, then THEY, not HE are just out of luck.

He advertises that if you know him, then you know what he believes. And if you don't, then ask around. Well, I THOUGHT I knew him, but what I KNOW he believes is NOT what conservative Utahns believe. And what I was unclear on, I DID ask around. And have been harrassed, and attacked for it. I even went to people who could give me the truth vs gossip.... his Fiance, and Sister. And was accused of being a "Spy" for his ex wife... who I have NEVER met. When I finally got a chance to speak to HIM, after being shunned for a few YEARS, I told him that I meant no harm.... simply wanted to know the facts from the fiction (I had heard a lot of gossip, and wanted to know the truth.) Now, I have lost several friends for an honest mistake.... or really no mistake, I was simply asking for truth, NOT PASSING ON GOSSIP.

You DO NOT want Adam representing you! He will not tell you the truth. He will not represent YOUR ideals. And he will try to shut up or shut out ANYONE who tries to learn more than he wants people to know. This is fine for an individual. NOT for someone who is supposed to be representing YOUR Honest Christian values and virtues!

Recent Thoughts

This is an excerpt from an earlier post:

I believe that this past month has marked a significant point in history with the Health care Bill passed by Congress. I only know a little about the exact details of the Bill. However, what I have learned leads me to believe that this Bill is more or less Unconstitutional.

For Members of the LDS Church who know their "Church History" and the things that have been written by Our Leaders throughout the past 2 centuries, this is a key point in what we believe will transpire prior to "The End of the World." ( I am using a lot of general terms.... I am not a "doomsday/apocalypse/end of existence" type of person)

Here's what I'm getting at: I believe that this is the beginning of "The End." The end of what exactly, I do not know. But I do believe that "The End" will encompass the America that we know changing DRASTICALLY. The History of the world shows several time frames where things have happened similar to how things are happening right now. The United States of America are at a point where other countries have been at one time or another. And in all of the other instances the outcome was a complete breakdown before things were rebuilt. And when they were rebuilt it was always as a completely different country.... or multiple countries.

Anyway it happens we are basically guaranteed that this situation we are currently in is going to decline. And eventually be drastic.

There are Scholars out there who have believed for some time now that it will be a complete break down resulting in a Civil War and eventually the United States will be divided and separated into several different Countries' territories.

However you choose to view it. It looks like a good time to take into consideration the things written in the "Book Of Revelations" (New Testament of the Bible.)

One thing David and I have discussed recently is that it speaks of the "Mark of the Beast in their hands and on their foreheads."

Throughout my life, I have come to understand through the teachings I have received, that this will entail some sort of mandatory bar coding system insisted upon by the government. In Revelations, John warns against accepting this system. As David and I were discussing this the other day, he commented that he believes that many of our Faith, who know the warning will still choose to comply. Let this be my "Two Cents" that those of you who believe in the "Book of Revelations" consider the warning it contains if this scenario ever arises.

In the mean time this is a good time to take Food Storage very seriously. Also make sure for those of you who are LDS, that you ARE paying your tithing.

******************************************************

Another thing I want to touch on quickly is "Keeping the Sabbath Day Holy." Many view it as specific to "Mormons." However, it is in fact one of the original 10 Commandments, dating back in Christian Beliefs AND Non Christian Beliefs to Moses.

I have been working really hard the past month or so to take this to heart, and use the "Sabbath" which for us is Sunday, as a day of rest. I do not do laundry or any cleaning (beyond basic maintenance) on Sunday, if I can help it. I try to get the grocery shopping, laundry and cleaning done by the time I go to bed Saturday night so that Sunday can be a peaceful day.

I don't know how much it has helped us as a Family. However, I do know that in light of David's recent escalation in outbursts, I believe it to be the reason that I am able to remain calmer, and handle the situation rationally and without loosing control myself.

The Saddest Words

"American Poet and abolitionist John Greenleaf Whittier (1807-1892) wrote, "For of all sad words of tongue or pen, the saddest are these: 'It might have been!'" Harriet Beecher Stowe (1811-1896), who was a contemporary of John Greenleaf Whittier, staunch abolitionist, and author of "Uncle Tom's Cabin," had this to say, "The bitterest tears shed over graves are for words left unsaid and deeds left undone." What are these two like-minded individuals telling us? The saddest words of all are the words of regret, especially if they are uttered at one's deathbed.

Are there letters to relatives you've left unwritten, telephone calls left undone, family time left unspent, broken relationships left unrepaired, and goals left abandoned? That wouldn't be a problem if we were immortal, for then we could always do those things "someday" in the future. But we're not. We have a limited amount of time available. To avoid experiencing "the saddest words of all," to avoid dying with regret, we need to get out of the habit of leaving things undone.

What value is a blossom that doesn't open? What value is our life if we don't let our potential unfold? When we habitually take action at the moment opportunity strikes we lead fulfilled lives. But those who lead lives of inaction are like stones that exist but don't live.

Are there things you've done or failed to do that you regret? Of course, what a silly question! After all, we're human, which is another way of saying we're imperfect. So, there's no need to panic or obsess over our regrets. Instead, we can use them as a positive force. We can accept them as a wake up call. We can use them to spur us on to new behavior by choosing to act, not postpone. In the words of Henry David Thoreau, "Make the most of your regrets; never smother your sorrow, but tend and cherish it till it come to have a separate and integral interest. To regret deeply is to live afresh."

The dark of night is not the end of the world. Our gravest mistakes are not the end of life. No matter how we blundered, we can turn ourselves around by learning from the past. We can become like the lotus blossom that majestically rises out of the mud.

When we close the gap between what we want to be and what we are now, we will have high self-esteem. Low self-esteem is due to a huge gap between the two. To boost our confidence and eliminate regrets, all we have to do is our best. How can we not succeed if we always remember we have the choice between becoming better or becoming bitter.

We need to refocus our attention from our "failures" and regrets to the opportunities that beckon us. As, Jerome K. Jerome wrote, "Opportunities flit by while we sit regretting the chances we have lost, and the happiness that comes to us we heed not, because of the happiness that is gone." Sometimes we avoid examining our regrets because of the pain. But that's a mistake. Use them as a lesson, as a stepping-stone to a better you.

"At the end of your life, you will never regret not having passed one more test, not winning one more verdict, or not closing one more deal;" said Barbara Bush, "You will regret time not spent with a husband, a friend, a child, or a parent." I'll end with a quote by Max L. Lucado, followed by a poems. Here's Max's thoughts, "Go to the effort. Invest the time. Write the letter. Make the apology. Take the trip. Purchase the gift. Do it. The seized opportunity renders joy. The neglected brings regret."

If I had my child to raise over again

If I had my child to raise all over again,
I'd build self-esteem first, and the house later.
I'd finger paint more, and point the finger less.
I would do less correcting and more connecting.
I'd take my eyes off my watch and watch with my eyes.
I would care to know less and know to care more.
I'd take more hikes and fly more kites.
I'd stop playing serious and seriously play.
I would run through more fields and gaze at more stars.
I'd do more hugging and less tugging.
I'd see the oak tree in the acorn more often.
I would be firm less often and affirm much more.
I'd model less about the love of power,
And more about the power of love.

I need more guns Aka Education is Key

This is from a previous post:

I have recently found it amazingly interesting how even among people who are not always what the "world" would consider the "Norm," I don't find many who share my points of view. In a religion where we preach about being prepared, people seem to find me unusual because I am passionate about being prepared. One of the most recent examples is that a few weeks ago, we bought two guns. I have been taught my entire life to have a year supply of food and supplies for my family, that the world will come to a point where crisis is the norm, and evil is rampant. Ok... Well, I have my year supply pretty well on it's way, and I have Three BEAUTIFUL Daughters, and a Son. When the state of the world becomes such that I need that supply, and people have forgotten their Humanity.... what's the point if I can't protect my assets? I'll tell you one thing: I have ZERO problem shooting someone to keep my children from starving to death or worse. Yet almost every person in my extended "network" thinks that we are OUT OF OUR MINDS for buying and keeping guns with us. Here's one thing: I have sat down with my children and shown them our guns. I have told them what they are, what they are for and what they are capable of. I DO NOT worry about an accident. Because we are educated. And our children are being educated. That's one thing that really bothers me about a lot of "Mormons" and others who are closed minded. Children are often taught in these homes that sex, guns, drugs, alcohol, etc are BAD. But these Children are almost NEVER educated about these topics in their homes. Soooo, the first time they run into a real situation with these topics, they may say "No." When pressured further, they have nothing to back themselves up with. "Because my mom and dad said so." Is Noble, but often will not hold or carry them for long. And then you get into the facts of sex not really being bad....just for certain people and situations. CONFUSING! So, how about instead of telling them "No." or it's "Bad." we educate them for Heaven's sake?! Meanwhile, I remain one who carries a gun with me. And would feel much better if we had more. Oh yeah, and I guess telling my Children how bad sex is is prolly a bad idea, since I definitely have been known to indulge myself once in a while! :-)

Childhood Obesity

This is a topic that is just plain ridiculous to me.

I was talking to a friend today. She was telling me about how on Dr. Phil, they had children who are obese. A five year old who is 40 lbs obese. COME ON PARENTS! SERIOUSLY! Keeping a child from becoming obese as long as you are in charge of their diet is sooooo easy it's not even funny!

First of all, give them attention so they don't have to self medicate with food.

Second, put you foot down. They want ice cream for breakfast? Say "No!" and give them some reasonably healthy cereal, toast, eggs, pancakes or a waffle(without them dripping in syrup), some fruit, or yogurt. If you only give them sweets occasionally, then every once in a while, they can have some extra without you having to monitor them. And if they ask for seconds, give them something HEALTHY. Not cookies, etc. They may really still be hungry. But you can give them fruit snacks, a PBJ sandwich, a cup of juice. They don't have to have second and third helpings of fried chicken. (figurative of course)

Most 4 year olds I know, you have to coerce into eating all of their food. To have a 5 year old who is obese is ridiculous.

I've even heard of a parent using the excuse "Well, we said "no," but she kept whining, and we didn't want to hear it." Too BAD! You are the parent. If you cave that easily, you don't stand a chance on the big things. Your Daughter says "Mom, I want to ....." You say "No." She says, "But MOM!" And you cave????? Who's the Parent???? She won't respect you, and is set on a self destruct course because she's not READY to handle grown up decisions. That's why she's got you!

I just read the other day that Girls are hitting puberty at 8 and 9 now. And one of the contributing factors is BMI. The fatter they are, the earlier they hit puberty. No 7 year old should have to deal with that! If we can keep our Little Girls LITTLE a couple of years longer by keeping their weight down, we'd be stupid not to. My Babies will grow up soon enough. I don't need them starting their periods at 8 and having to deal with raging hormones that they don't understand because I couldn't put my foot down, or get up and fix them a healthy meal.

Not to mention the fact that being obese when your an adult is such an epidemic. Let's give them their Childhood before they have to worry about that. They will have enough stress over their bodies when they become Teenagers and Adults.

Quote for the Day

"We are a warlike people, easily distracted from our assignment of preparing for the coming of the Lord. ...When threatened, we become anti-enemy instead of pro-kingdom of God; we train a man in the art of war and call him a patriot, thus, in the manner of Satan’s counterfeit of true patriotism, perverting the Savior’s teaching:" Spencer W. Kimball

Careful not to judge to prematurely!

"There is no way to accept, participate, or become sympathetic to any government welfare programs while also keeping the 'system at bay'. Every American has paid in to the system, but there are no financial reserves that I can pull out what I have put in.

Social Security -- as well as our entire socialized system -- is a ponzi scheme, there is no such thing as getting out of it what you put in. Those who take out of the SS right now are instantly taking out of my pocket, and if I were to take a SS check later in life then I would be doing the same thing to my children. I'll take the financial hit. I was raised on the principle that it was better to go without than to take from someone else -- even if I have been taken from by a corrupt and an unjust system. While I cast no judgment whatsoever on any partakers of welfare programs (there is always a long and supposedly justified reason why someone is on these programs), I will personally beg for charity on a street-corner before I teach my children to live on government programs."

This was a comment on a Friends Profile by someone she knows that I do not. However, it was in response to a comment I made about how grateful I am to have Medicaid available to us with David out of work. But how I still believe in keeping the system "at bay," and not allowing it to have complete control of our lives.

This is what I have to say to the above remarks:

Careful. I would Lose my children in the great state of Wyoming if I denied them access to the program that allows them to see a dr when they are sick.

And then I am no good to them. They are wards of the system. And getting them away from that is no easy task.

I do what I can. But I will also not allow them to starve vs enroll them for food stamps. The Leaders of My Faith would never condone that.... neither would my conscience, nor would my children understand why my pride kept them from medicine and food when it is available.... But that doesn't mean that I have to let the system govern us either. We do not receive ANY other help from it and never will. But I CANNOT tell you, someone I can only guess has never been in my situation what a divine blessing it is to not have to worry about food right now when we have so many other concerns.

I have put into the system, and while I will not ever see the full amount of what I put in, I do not feel ashamed to use what I need when it is there. I do NOT teach my Children to live on government programs. My Daughter would receive additional benefits if she were attending school. However, rather than enroll her in a school system that I believe to be detrimental, just for those benefits, I choose to keep her home and teach her myself. This unfortunately keeps me from being available to sit on a street corner and beg for scraps. Along with the 3 other Children I am responsible for.

But My Son was 4 weeks old and in need of serious medical attention when our income was cut off. And I am grateful he is alive because I am not too proud to use the help available to us.

"Judge not that ye be not Judged."

**********************************************************

For those of you who are LDS, you should know what I am speaking of as I relate the following story. For those of you who are not, I will tell you the story ;-)

In General Conference this past weekend, a talk (discourse) was given. In the talk it was mentioned that in the Bible we learn of Mary and Martha (Lazarus' Sisters and followers of Jesus Christ) who were visited by Jesus. When he came to their home, Mary left her work and came to sit with Jesus and hear his words. Martha on the other hand continued with her chores. After a time, she complained to Jesus that it was unfair for Mary to have abandoned her to do it all alone while she sat and was "entertained." Jesus informed Martha that Mary had chosen the "Better part." For what he had to tell them was of great importance.

The person giving the talk (discourse) mentioned that too often, Martha is judged harshly in the Christian community for this. But later on in the story when their brother had died, it was Martha who showed the great faith in Jesus that allowed Lazarus to be brought back to life.

He told of how if we wait until the end of the story to judge these two sisters, Martha is not the Sister without feeling that she seems to be in the first part of the story.

The point being that sometimes, even though the scriptures say "Judge not that ye be not judged," we HAVE to use our judgement. And because judging wisely is very important, we usually HAVE to hear the story out fully or we may judge poorly based on limited information.

I believe this to be the case in the scenario of myself and this other person. He knows nothing of my situation. But he has passed judgement. Now in HIS case, I believe the scriptural advice of "Judge not that ye be not judged" applies.

However, in my efforts to provide for my Family and yet "Keep the System at bay" I need to be well informed, and judge wisely.

Why Home School

There are so many things I believe my Children will learn by being Homs Schooled that I believe they would not learn in a Public School. Here is a rough list.

* Respect. While Public Schools attempt to focus on this, it is often a rushed topic. Children are corraled more in a Public School setting, and less time is available to expalin in detail what respect entails.

* Moral Obligation. Again, something that Public Schools try to teach. Again the same reason why Children may not learn it adequately.

* Consistency. They are only there part of the day. They only get the amount of time designated to a subject to learn that topic, and then it's on to the next... whether they have learned the lesson or not. Things change hourly, and then they go home.

I truly believe that while Public School is a great opportunity, too much of the Parents' responsibility to teach their Children has been diverted to the Teachers.
"No Failure Can Compensate For Failure in the Home." Too many Parents are inactive in the teaching of their Children. And as kind and loving as many Teachers are, they cannot walk the Child home and give them that extra sense of security and commitment. And unfortunately, not enough Parents are there to do that either.

Therefore, the Children learn other lessons in the absence of Parental Guidance. Teens, and even Pre-Teens nowadays are into drugs, sex, bullying and other destructive behaviors. And it's affecting younger and younger ages.

My Children need extra doses of the morals and responsibility that they can only learn from an attentive and caring Mother and Father before they have to face these challenges head on.

If my 4th Grader is learning these negative behaviors without being properly taught how to defend herself, then I could lose her before she even reaches driving age. And chances are, she will bring them home to her Siblings.

No Thank You!

Home Schooling will take a level of interaction and teaching that I have never had to deal with before. But My Children are worth being extra prepared for a world where Teens are harming themselves and others every day.

Gun Control Is Unconstitutional

Dear Concerned American,

With willing one-world accomplices in Washington, D.C., gun-grabbers around the globe believe they have it made.

In fact, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton just announced the Obama Administration would be working hand in glove with the UN to pass a new “Small Arms Treaty.”

This is Congressman Paul Broun from Georgia.

I’m writing you to make sure American citizens are prepared to oppose this assault on our national sovereignty and right to keep and bear arms.

Disguised as legislation to help in the fight against “terrorism,” “insurgency” and “international crime syndicates,” the UN’s Small Arms Treaty is nothing more than a massive, GLOBAL gun control scheme.

Ultimately, the UN’s Small Arms Treaty is designed to register, ban and CONFISCATE firearms owned by private citizens like YOU.

I want you to understand just how dangerous this global gun ban is. Please bear with me for a moment.

So far, the gun-grabbers have successfully kept the exact wording of their new scheme under wraps.

But looking at previous versions of the UN’s Small Arms Treaty, you and I can get a good idea of what’s likely in the works.

If passed by the UN and ratified by the U.S. Senate, the UN’s Small Arms Treaty would almost certainly FORCE national governments to:

•Enact tougher licensing requirements,making law-abiding citizens cut through even more bureaucratic red tape just to own a firearm legally;
•CONFISCATE and DESTROY ALL “unauthorized” civilian firearms (all firearms owned by the government are excluded, of course);
•BAN the trade, sale and private ownership of ALL semi-automatic weapons;
•Create an INTERNATIONAL gun registry, setting the stage for full-scale gun CONFISCATION.
I’m sure I don’t have to tell you that this is NOT a fight we can afford to lose.

Ever since its founding almost 65 years ago, the United Nations has been hell-bent on bringing the United States to its knees.

To the petty dictators and one-worlders who control the UN, the U.S. isn’t a “shining city on a hill” -- it’s an affront to their grand totalitarian designs for the globe.

These anti-gun globalists know that so long as Americans remain free to make our own decisions without being bossed around by big government bureaucrats, they’ll NEVER be able to seize the worldwide oppressive power they crave.

And the UN’s apologists also know the most effective way to finally strip you and me of ALL our freedoms would be to DESTROY our gun rights.

That’s why I’ve decided to stand with the National Association for Gun Rights in their opposition to this assault on our Constitution.

The truth is, there’s no time to waste.

You and I have to be prepared for this fight to move FAST.

The fact is, the last thing the gun-grabbers at the UN and in Washington, D.C. want is for you and me to have time to react and mobilize gun owners to defeat this radical legislation.

They’ve made that mistake before, and we’ve made them pay, defeating EVERY attempt to ram the “Treaty on Small Arms” into law since the mid-1990s.

But this time, time won’t be on our side.

In fact, we’re likely to only have a few days or weeks to defeat the treaty.

Worse, there’s no longer a pro-gun Senate to kill ratification of the treaty.

There’s no longer a President in the White House who has stated opposition to the treaty.

And you and I know good and well how Germany, Great Britain, France, Communist China or the rest of the anti-gun members of the United Nations are going to vote.

So our ONE AND ONLY CHANCE of stopping the UN’s Small Arms Treaty is during the ratification process in the U.S. Senate.

As you know, it takes 67 Senate votes to ratify a treaty.

So rounding up 34 votes to kill this thing should be easy, right?

Unfortunately, that couldn’t be further from the truth.

First, you know just as well as I do how few Senators are truly “pro-gun.”

Second, even with the partisan rancor in Washington, D.C., many Senators get “queasy” about killing treaties for fear of “embarrassing” the President -- especially with “international prestige” at stake.

They look at ratifying treaties much like approving Presidents’ Supreme Court nominees.

And remember how many Senators turned their back on us and voted to confirm anti-gun Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor?

A dozen more only voted against Sotomayor after receiving massive grassroots pressure from the folks back home.

So if we’re going to defeat the UN’s Small Arms Treaty we have to turn the heat up on the U.S. Senate now before it’s too late!

Do you believe the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the Second Amendment are the supreme law of the land?

Do you believe any attempt by the United Nations to subvert or supersede your Constitutional rights must be opposed?

If you said "Yes" to these questions, I hope you'll agree to take a step beyond signing your survey and click here to contribute to the efforts of the National Association for Gun Rights.

You see, your survey puts you squarely on the record AGAINST the U.N.’s Small Arms Treaty.

But it will take hundreds of thousands, even millions, of pro-Second Amendment Americans rallying to the cause to stop the globalists.

Direct mail. Phones. E-mail. Blogs. Billboards. Guest editorials. Press conferences. Hard-hitting newspaper, radio and TV ads. The whole nine yards.

Of course, if NAGR can raise enough resources, their goal is to expand this full program to ALL of their target states.

But that’s not going to be cheap, and we may not have much time.

In fact, if we’re going to defeat the UN’s so-called “Small Arms Treaty,” we have to start NOW!

So please put yourself on record AGAINST the UN’s “Small Arms Treaty” by signing NAGR’s Firearms Sovereignty Survey.

And if you possibly can, please agree to make a contribution of $1,000, $500, $250, or $100. If $100 is too much to ask right now, please rush a contribution of $50 or even $35 today.

Every dollar counts in this fight.

I know this is a lot to ask, but inaction could very well lead to defeat and the loss of our right to keep and bear arms.

Whether you can afford $200 or a lesser amount of $50 or $25, please contribute what you can.

It's critical we do all we can.

Thank you in advance for contributing you time and money towards defending our Second Amendment rights.

For Freedom and Liberty,

Dr. Paul Broun, M.D.
U.S. Congressman (R-GA)
National Association for Gun Rights

P.S. The Obama Administration just announced they would be working hand in glove with the UN to pass a new GLOBAL, “Small Arms Treaty.”

In fact, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton just announced the Obama Administration would be working hand in glove with the UN to pass a new “Small Arms Treaty.”

That's why it's vital you and I fight back IMMEDIATELY.

If you can, please make a generous contribution of $1,000, $500, $250, $100 or even just $50 or $35 -- immediately.

Home Schooling in Wyoming

Elizabeth was born in March of 2003. The Spring of 2008, right before Her Kindergarten Year of School started, we decided we preferred to Home School her. However, David and I went through a Divorce that Summer. And due to the stress levels already upon My Family, and at the suggestion of My Bishop, I decided to send her to Jackson Elementary.

She had a little bit of a rough time her first year of Public School. And at the suggestion of her Teacher, instead of sending her on to First Grade, we had her stay in Kindergarten for a 2ND year. By mid Jan of this year, she was doing fine academically, however, she was having a hard time staying focused and some light discipline issues. We noticed that it was really hard to have her transition from school to home and back.

We chose to pull her out of School as of Feb 1st to see how she did being at home without going to school.

After seeing the progress she was making, we opted not to have her finish the School Year at School, and are enrolling her in a Virtual Academy for next year in order to Home School her.

She turned 7 in March. We got a call from a Truancy Agent of the County Prosecutor's office last week. She wants to meet with David and Elizabeth.

She told him on the phone that Elizabeth has been referred to her office by someone.

SO, we got a hold of the paperwork and looked up on line the information we needed to in order to find out where we stand and what the consequences of Elizabeth not being in School the rest of this year are.

According to Wyoming Law: No Child is REQUIRED to be enrolled in any type of School until they turn 7 before Sept 15Th of any given School year. In layman's terms: If she turned 7 before Sept 15Th of the 2009-2010 School Year, she has to attend School or be officially enrolled in an approved Home School program before School starts in September (Or August depending on the School) and attend the WHOLE 9 months of school for that School Year.

HOWEVER, since she did not turn 7 until 2010, she has until the 2010-2011 School Year before this applies to her.

So, David will keep his appointment. However, Elizabeth will be staying at home with me.

IF we were in violation of this, we could be fined anywhere from $5 to $1000 and/or face jail time of up to 10 days in jail.

Why?

I have experienced so much life in my 31 years that I believe I can confidently stand up and speak for what I believe in.

I have been married, divorced, a Single Parent, a Soldier, a Mother, Daughter, Wife, Wife of a Soldier, Working Mom, without an income, to jail. I have been abused by the system that is in place to protect our freedoms.

If I can't actually fill a Political Office, I am ok with that.

But if nothing else, I can use my voice to share my thoughts and ideas, resources, and support to make this world better for My Children.
