I like your Christ
I do not like your Christians
They are so unlike your Christ -- gandhi
It's better to shoot for the stars and miss than to aim for the ground and score a bullseye. I am passionate about what I believe in, and think I can make a difference in this world. I may never be President, but if I never try, how will I know. I have a lot to say. You can see more on Loving My Life, My Passion, or I am Mommy

"I don't care who you are, when you disrespect the President of the United States, it is YOU who looks bad. Stop the madness people! He is the Commander in Chief! President Bush didn't go himself to fight in the
war either! Did he? Think about that...." Was what one person wrote in defense of the current President. Ironically, she's not even FROM the US. Typical. She's never been in the military. She doesn't get what it is people have a problem with. We're not upset that he didn't fight the battle. We're upset that he is in complete opposition in all he does, says, and stands for to the ideals this country stands for.
I will always defend what I believe to be right. I will always condemn what I believe to be wrong, and President or not, Barack Obama is NOT a man I think much of. I once signed away my life to the United States of America, to uphold and defend our freedoms and God given way of life. He has spent 3 years detroying ALL I swore to protect. He has left us vulnerable and on the verge of destruction.
DO NOT lecture me on respecting a Man who doesn't uphold what I believe to be respect worthy.
And I have to laugh at the support of the Canadian People for him. His decisions only affect them second hand. C'mon! You know nothing about what he means for our democracy!

Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth: Lest the Lord see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him. Fret not thyself because of evil men, neither be thou envious at the wicked; For there shall be no reward to the evil man; the candle of the wicked shall be put out. Proverbs chp 24:17-20

Death of a terrorist is NOT the death of terrorism.
The news is TEAMING with the news of Osama Bin Laden's death.
So many are celebrating.
I am not impressed. Obviously, one less evil man on this earth is good. But the ideals he supported and fueled are NOT!
When the death of terrorism comes to pass, I will celebrate.
Now though, as "America" celebrates, I fear the worst.
What next. Surely SOMEONE is going to be PISSED OFF. Surely SOMEONE is going to seek revenge. And that revenge scares the breath right out of me!!!!!!!!!
I'm not afraid of the man who is dead. I never was. I am afraid of anger, hatred, and grudges.
He was a symbol of these. He was only ONE of MANY who feed off of them.
I do not see our President as a Hero. (I DO have the UTMOST respect for the Military Personnel.) He just threw a log on a fire that has been smoldering for the past ETERNITY. And that log just MAY make that fire too big. And then our lives and our freedoms are under a greater attack than ever before.
And he didn't take protective measures FIRST. He isn't trying to secure our borders to protect his people from becoming victims. He has left us WIDE open and targets!

"This case reminds us all of the need to address immigration reform. As we have stated, we believe any solution should include the following three principles: the commandment to 'love thy neighbor,' the importance of keeping families intact and the federal government’s obligation to secure its border." LDS Church spokesman Scott Trotter.
I have struggled with what I have considered the LDS Church's leniency on their immigration "points" but I think this statement sums up an ideal outcome.
Obviously, this is where I think a LOT of us struggle. Is our compassion saying "love thy neighbor," and wanting families to be together; Warring with our need to protect our own interests which these immigrants don't seem to care too much about. And it turns some VERY compassionate people into mean, un empathetic people.

American Soldier
I’m just tryin’ to be a father, raise a daughter and a son
Be a lover to their mother, everythin’ to everyone
Up and at ‘em bright and early, I’m all business in my suit
Yeah I’m dressed up for success, from my head down to my boots
I don’t do it for money, there’s bills that I can’t pay
I don’t do it for the glory, I just do it anyway
Providing for our future’s, my responsibility
Yeah I’m real good under pressure, being all that I can be
And I can’t call in sick on Mondays when the weekend’s been too strong
I just work straight through the holidays, and sometimes all night long
You can bet that I stand ready, when the wolf growls at the door
Hey I’m solid, hey I’m steady, hey I’m true down to the core.
And I will always do my duty no matter what the price
I’ve counted up the cost, I know the sacrifice
Oh and I don’t want to die for you, but if dyin’s asked of me
I’ll bear that cross with honor, cause freedom don’t come free.
I’m an American Soldier an American
Beside my brothers and my sisters, I will proudly take a stand
When liberty’s in jeopardy, I will always do what’s right
I’m out here on the front lines, sleep in peace tonight
American Soldier, I’m and American, Soldier.
An American Soldier an American
Beside my brothers and my sisters, I will proudly take a stand

This is what matters today: I understand that government shut downs are part of the cog workings in a country like ours. There are BOUND to be hiccups. But the "Parents" of our Country need to make sure their charge is provided for FIRST. If the people they are responsible for are having to wait to get paid, they need to as well.
This affects my family personally in 2 ways: 1) there are people close to me who are going to suffer 1st hand. 2) it makes my family's security and safety that much less stable.

Dear Mr. Obama, I hear you would like to freeze pay rates for soldiers starting next year. Would you also consider cutting your own pay to save more money for our country? While you're at it, lets cut down all congressman's pay too. If the people who risk their lives don't get an increase in pay, why should we continue raising pay for those who take no risks and reap the benefits?
